Corbett National Park was established in 1936 and is home to the critically endangered species of Jungle Cats and Black Bear. Corbett is home to around 50 species of trees, 580 bird species and 50 species of animals along with 25 reptile species spread over an area of more than 500 sq km covering riverine belts, hills, marshy depressions, lakes, streams and grasslands. Corbett Park is divided into 5 zones and all of them have different gates. Kasol is commonly known as the Amsterdam of India, is situated between towns of Bhuntar and Manikaran. Kasol is famous for its trekking trails- Kheerganga, Sar Pass, and Pin Parbati Pass. To get a real feel of the culture in this region, go on visit to village Malana. The people of Malana claim themselves to be Aryan descendants, and avoid interaction with outsiders. Malna has plenty of scenic sights, though, and is often called ‘Little Greece’. Kasol has a flea market that sells a variety of items, so you can pick up trinkets, souvenirs, pendants, and even semi-precious stones to take back home for family and friends.
